The greatest thing that can be said about a person is that He believed God
Noah believed God when he believed it would rain and flood the earth.
Isaiah believed God when he delivered outrageous prophesy that a virgin would give birth to the Savior of Israel.
The hallmark of Abraham's reference in the scripture keeps coming back to ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD (Romans 4:2, Galatians 3:6)
Abraham is not remembered for walking in righteousness, or giving the spoils of war to Melchizedek or giving lot the best of land. The scriptures emphatically bring our attention to the fact that God's word came to pass in his life and he became the father of faith because ABRAHAM BELIEVED GOD
Answering a question about doing the will of God:
Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God? Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent. John 6:28-29
On account of this it is by faith, in order that it might be by grace, to the end that the promise might be something realized by all the offspring, not by that which is of the law only, but also by that which is of the faith of Abraham who is father of all of us; even as it stands written, A father of many nations I have established you PERMANENTLY, before Him whom he believed, before God who makes alive those who are dead and calls the things that are not in existence as being in existence; who, being beyond hope, upon the basis of hope believed, in order that he might become father of many nations, according to that which has been spoken with finality, In this manner will your offspring be. And not being weak with respect to his faith, he attentively considered his own body permanently dead, he being about one hundred years old, also the deadness of Sarah's womb. Moreover, in view of the promise of God, he did not vacillate in the sphere of unbelief between two mutually exclusive expectations but was strengthened with respect to his faith, having given glory to God, and was fully persuaded that what He had promised with FINALITY He was able also to do; wherefore also it was put down in his account, resulting in righteousness.
Romans 4:16-22 WUEST
The above translation beautifully brings out the fact that when God declared to Abraham that he would be father of many nations, it was PERMANENTLY established. All Abraham had to do was take that word as the FINALITY of his situation and use the spoken word as the anchor of his soul.
This is a powerful spiritual truth. This IS how the kingdom of God operates.
And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground
Mark 4:26
Jesus DEFINITIVELY declares "so is", meaning THIS IS EXACTLY HOW the kingdom of God operates. What is the seed he is talking about?
The sower soweth the word
Mark 4:14
Abraham allowed God to sow the Word-Seed into his heart. You can have the same results, if you receive His word concerning anything.
God has spoken PERMANENTLY and with FINALITY about everything that pertains to life and godliness (2 Peter 1:3-4). There is a word already released for every situation in your life.
You are not waiting on God (Ephesians 1:3), receive His Word and let it be said (YOUR NAME) believed God.
